Caregiving schedule for three siblings
A fair way for three brothers and sisters to share the care of a parent: an evening visit and a morning check-in call every day, taking turns one day at a time, with the call starting one person later so nobody has both on the same day.

With three helpers, a daily visit and a daily call, each of you has about 4.7 turns a week. When your parent is away for a day (a hospital stay, a trip with a friend), skip that day and carry on where you left off, so nobody loses or gains a turn.
Other ways to split it
- Same weekdays every week: each of you keeps your days (Anna on Mondays and Thursdays, Tom on Tuesdays and Fridays…). Easy to remember and to fit around work.
- A week each: one of you does every visit for a week, then hands over. Good when someone lives far away and can come for a whole week.
- Uneven on purpose: the sibling who lives closest takes the visits, the one far away takes the calls, the paperwork and the pharmacy. Fair is not always equal; agree on it out loud.
